Microsoft changes leadership but is it enough?
This week, Microsoft announced a re-organization into 3 new divisions, with the big change being James Allchin will retire after Windows Vista is scheduled to be released in 2006. With a flurry of Microsoft executives and distinguished engineers leaving for Google, it seems there is something rotten in Redmond. Here are 2 news stories that caught my attention:
- Microsoft quashes study that showed MSN search quality has become less competitive
- Serious problems with Longhorn codebase led Microsoft to drop WinFS.
